About Jana Campanelli
Jana Campanelli is a health and physical education teacher with over a decade of experience in Melrose Park, Illinois’ School District 89, as well as a sports coach and mentor to new instructors and students. Jana takes her role as a guide and instructor very seriously, and she works hard every day to establish a secure, supportive learning environment. As a result of Jana’s unique and entertaining teaching and classroom management tactics, her students have flourished.
Jana Campanelli’s Experience
Jana graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media and Public Relations. She followed that degree with a k-12 teaching credential from Northeastern Illinois University, knowing which path she intended to take. Everyone who has had the pleasure of working with Jana knows that she goes above and beyond in her academic and athletic consulting roles, as well as the mentorship of new employees.
Jana spent over two decades as a Food and Beverage Trainer at Cantigny Golf & Restaurant, where she trained, coached, and mentored new food and beverage employees on everything from upselling methods to managerial prospects to day-to-day operations and creating excellent client connections. Jana’s coworkers and subordinates saw firsthand how she would jump into the trenches anytime additional hands were needed. One of the reasons Jana decided to pursue a career in teaching and coaching was her natural ability to mentor colleagues and relate to consumers at all levels.
Jana Campanelli’s current position entails developing district-specific education programs that are adaptable enough to meet the needs of students at all levels of learning. Her classes are structured to conform to established curricula while also recognizing and providing activities for students with specific needs. She mixes her two disciplines of academics and athletics since she recognizes the worth of both. Jana understands the importance of instilling good behaviors in children at a young age. Hearing from previous students who have made a lifelong commitment to their health and education is one of her favorite things.
Her easygoing nature and dependability make her an ideal peer mediator and dispute resolver. She is a member of the school’s Wellness Committee and an active member of Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS). Jana is also in charge of developing physical education programs for the entire school.
Jana Campanelli recognizes the importance of instilling self-awareness and independence in her students. Jana can help from a mostly hands-off stance as a check-in check-out (CICO) intervention coach.
